Portrait Session With Katrina

Portrait Session with Katrina

Can you say fun?! OMG I had so much fun photographing Katrina; seriously I can get addicted! I met Katrina mid 2016 when she started working at my old full time job. We hit it off as soon as she started and have been really good friends ever since. When I asked Katrina to model for me, she was all for it! She's been modeling for a while now and was super easy to pose. Another thing about her is that she's super talented with hair and makeup! Katrina did her own hair and makeup and also brought with her some amazing wardrobe for the shoot. Luckily I have my share of beautiful wardrobe pieces to change it up for her. Again, we had so much fun and she felt so good after the shoot. Take a look at the photos below! Since the shoot was pretty casual, we went with a really pretty pink dress that Katrina had used when she was a bridesmaid. Who says those bridesmaid dresses will never be worn again?! She looked amazing in the coral pink and the white backlit was perfect for the photo. In this photo, the window is to the left…

DIY: How To Make A Tulle Skirt?

DIY: How To Make a Tulle Skirt?

I finally had the chance to finish the tulle skirt I started about 2 months ago! Not that it takes that long; I was just busy arranging other things that sadly, it fell down in the list of priorities. Since I decided to finally finish, let me give you a quick DIY lesson on how to make a tulle skirt! I really love making these skirts because they are so fun and inexpensive to make. This is my second one, so by no means am I a professional! I have no training in sewing or have never made any type of clothing before, so if I can do it - you can too! The most sewing I've ever done is sewing a button on a shirt maybe back during high school... You are going to need a ribbon or elastic to sew the tulle on to, thread and needle to sew the skirt, and a mannequin or a lamp shade if you don't have a mannequin. Step 1: Purchasing Tulle My first skirt was more expensive since I wanted to get started right away and was too impatient to wait for it to be delivered. I bought black tulle (about…

What’s “Contemporary Glamour” Photography?

What's "Contemporary Glamour" Photography?

"I'm a contemporary glamour photographer."  "A what?" This is how my conversations normally go but it's totally understandable. Up to maybe 2-3 years ago, glamour photography was plagued with boas, overly edited skin, big hair, or even a double exposure with your favorite pet. Or on the flip side, it could be projected as "boudoir" or exotic photography. So when I tell someone I'm a glamour photographer, that's what they are reminded of and its all good! Contemporary glamour photography is all about displaying your truest self. Its a call to all women to showcase how amazingly beautiful you are at this very moment. Not when you're older, younger, slimmer, tighter - its about RIGHT NOW. Glamour photography is about capturing your beauty and having a experience memorialized in print. Contemporary glamour shoots are portrait sessions that mix fashion, beauty, and fun into one fabulous experience. Have you ever wondered how models and celebrities feel at the studio when they are shooting for major magazines? This is the chance to experience that! Ask yourself this: when was the last time you were professionally photographed? Do you want to feel and look glamorous? Then the time is NOW! Think of this experience as start to your…

The Start - November 1st 2016

What is the best thing about starting over? What is it that has people always making New Year's resolutions? Why do we have the tendency of starting at New Year's? I say FORGET that! Let's start right NOW! Right now is the best time to start something you've been dreaming about. Right now is the best time to start going to the gym. Right now is the best time to take that vacation. Right now is the best time to DO WHATEVER you've been holding back doing. When was the last time you've done what you've wanted to do? What's stopping you? What's holding you back? There are a lot of objections to going after your goals. But the most important and pivotal thing I've learned so far this year is that anything with opposition is worth pursuing! If there isn't opposition, it's usually not worth attaining. What has been giving you opposition lately? Is it your job? Your relationships? Your own discouragement? What's holding you back? I've never been the type of person to take risks. I've always seen risks as something that was not worth losing my stability, family, or pride over. I always focused on the negative…

Portrait Session With Jessica

Portrait Session with Jessica

Hello everyone! I've been gone a while working on my folio and marketing since my last blog post (click here to see it!). I met up with a fellow photographer in the gorgeous Northport Village park on a beautiful and bright sunny Saturday to photograph her for my folio and her website. This is Jessica C and she is a photographer in Virginia. She recently moved to VA after a 3 month trip pretty much around the world! She and her husband embarked on a 3-continent trip to Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji! How amazing is that? You can check out photos of her travel on her blog here. We started off with regular head shots near a tree and then at the gazebo.  Then we walked to the grass area and got these awesome photos. How beautiful are her eyes!! Then Jess glammed it up with her embellished blue dress that looked amazing! Did I mention Jess is also a photographer? If you're in the Virginia Beach area, make sure to check out her site here: Focus on Joy Photography! Thanks for being my model for the day Jess! Update: Jess…

Portrait Session With Actress & Model Anna DeGennaro

Portrait Session with Actress & Model Anna DeGennaro

Hey everyone! I'm so incredibly thrilled to show you this UUHH-mazing shoot I had with the lovely and talented Anna DeGennaro. She and I have been working together for about 2 months now, but this shoot was just magical! We had so much fun and we both love how beautiful the photos came out. She definitely brought out her glamorous side out to flourish and my Sue Bryce inspired techniques also made an awesome appearance. I've work very hard and diligently on my photography skills so I can give all of Long Island glamorous photography. If you are interested in bringing out your inner goddess or if you know someone that needs a boost of confidence, send me a message by clicking HERE. Anna was glowing beautifully before the shoot! We then decided to have Anna wear natural everyday makeup. We wanted to keep it very natural to capture head shots for her portfolio. Then we turned the glamour factor up! Anna was in her element! Check the rest of the shoot out. We took advantage of the great sunlight outside and took the shoot out for a couple of shots. I can not get enough of the great weather we are…

Site is LIVE!

So what can I say? I'm LIVE! Woot! But holy moly I am a bit nervous... Why? I don't really know. Maybe because I'm embarking on a journey that I have NO idea where its going or what I'm supposed to do when I get there. But what I do know is that I am heavily supported. I want to give thanks. First and most important, I want to give thanks to my creator. With Jesus Christ everything is possible (even if you're a scaredy cat like me). I've learned so much about God in the past couple of months and it has opened my eyes to the possibilities that I have been missing out on! I obviously still have to work on my worrying, but I know in due time I will be less worried and more reliant on God. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This is the verse that I am relying on and honey, I'm just getting started! I want to give…
